Malaysian Telco Telekom Malaysia (TM) has launched a subscription based online storage and back-up service for consumers and businesses.

The new offering, called e-Storage, is the result of a partnership between TM and Malaysian IT services company AfterOffice.com. Subscribers’ data would be stored at AfterOffice.com’s data center in Cyberjaya.

Unlike free online storage services, e-Storage offers secure login and access via Secure Socket Layer and round-the-clock customer support through telephone, email and online chat. The e-Storage service is available to users of TM’s Streamyx of Dial-up 1515 services.

There are two packages available: Personal online storage starts at 500MB or 1GB. The monthly subscription fee is RM1 for Streamyx home user for a personal online storage space of 500MB, and RM2 for the space of 1GB.

For business subscribers, the monthly fee is RM4 for 1GB of online storage with three user ID accounts.
