AVO Mail Server Configurations

You can configure your email clients (e.g. Ms Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail, etc) to send and receive emails through your domain.com email account that is hosted with AfterOffice. To do so, you need to know the AVO (AfterOffice Virtual Office) mail server settings.

AVO POP Server Settings (incoming mail server)

  • Account Type: POP3
  • User ID/User Name/Login Name: Your full email address i.e. name@domain.com
  • Mail Server: mail.domain.com
  • Port Number: 110
  • SSL: Off

AVO IMAP Server Settings (incoming mail server)

  • Account Type: IMAP
  • User IDUser ID/User Name/Login Name: Your full email address i.e. name@domain.com
  • Mail Server: mail.domain.com (e.g. mail.lookafter.com)
  • Port Number: 143
  • SSL: Off

AVO SMTP Server Settings (outgoing mail server)

  • Mail Server: mail.domain.com (e.g. mail.lookafter.com)
  • User IDUser ID/User Name/Login Name: Your full email address i.e. name@domain.com
  • Port Number: 587
  • SSL: Off
  • Requires authentication: YES

Important Notes:

  • Afteroffice SMTP server allows only genuine user to send email.
    Make sure to check the option “My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication” and “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” on the outgoing server settings.
